「光」與「鹽」的故事: 一位基督徒的智慧與勇氣
陳柏源
外祖父李天賜先生，出生於嘉義，畢業於嘉義農校(也就是電影中的KANO)，並曾在農委會相關的單位服務多年。外祖父是一位虔誠的基督徒，長年在朴子教會聚會禱告。外祖父個子並不高，但精力充沛。曾參加馬拉松比賽，勇奪亞軍(冠軍是一位山地同胞奪得)。
外祖父曾於青壯年時期參加農耕隊，遠赴菲律賓傳授並與當地人交流有關於農耕的先進技術。當時菲律賓情勢不穩定，曾受到越共戰爭所波及，當地人紛紛「疏開」(也就是現在所說的「疏散逃難」之意)。許多人紛紛帶著家中的米糧與食物，奔向未知的崇山峻嶺之中。唯有外祖父手持一包鹽巴，以及當時所配給的Aspirin上山。
許多人雖帶著大量食物上山，卻難尋得火種與水源。且因背著重物長途跋涉，反而累倒且病倒在逃難的途中。於是，傳染病四起！其中以痢疾最為流行，且最為嚴重！許多人因痢疾病上吐下瀉，脫水嚴重而喪命。然而，外祖父使用鹽巴，平衡身體所缺乏的礦物質與電解質，並使用所配給之Aspirin，對於病危的災友進行救治，活人無數！由於過人的意志力，以及上帝的奇蹟與恩典，賜予一位基督徒智慧與勇氣！
據當時一位友人敘述：有一位仁兄，因患有嚴重之痢疾，欲舉槍自盡。外祖父及時搶下已經抵住太陽穴的手槍，並告訴他：「你有勇氣自殺，就會有勇氣活下去！上帝會救治你，不會棄你不顧。」於是，這位仁兄有了活下去的勇氣與生命力！加上適時給予醫藥食物治療，並就漸漸康復了。然而，由於戰亂時難以獲得食物，尤其是藥物。有些親友由於Aspirin短缺而不治，也常使外祖父感傷不已。
聖經中約翰福音裡提到:「那光是真光，照亮一切生在世上的人。他在世界，世界也是藉著他造的，世界卻不認識他。他到自己的地方來，自己的人倒不接待他。凡接待他的，就是信他名的人，他就賜他們權柄，作神的兒女。這等人不是從血氣生的，不是從情慾生的，也不是從人意生的，乃是從神生的。道成了肉身，住在我們中間，充充滿滿的有恩典有真理。我們也見過他的榮光，正是父獨生子的榮光。」
馬太福音裡也說:「你們是世上的鹽。鹽若失了味，怎能叫他再鹹呢？以後無用，不過丟在外面，被人踐踏了。你們是世上的光。城造在山上是不能隱藏的。人點燈，不放在斗底下，是放在燈臺上，就照亮一家的人。你們的光也當這樣照在人前，叫他們看見你們的好行為，便將榮耀歸給你們在天上的父。」
在外祖父親身經歷上，可以很適切的體會到「光」與「鹽」的精神與價值！上帝的奇蹟與恩典，真切地賜予一位基督徒智慧與勇氣。外祖父信靠基督的救恩之光，影響到了母親與家人，也改變了我。願主耶穌基督就恩之光永遠長存。阿門！
